The military junta of Myanmar had made threats to dissolve her party of an alleged voter's fraud after her party swept the 2020 elections. Aung San Suu Kyi has been charged with flouting coronavirus restrictions during last year's election campaign and possessing unlicensed walkie-talkies. But Aung San Suu Kyi said that her National League for Democracy party would "exist as long as the people exist."

The Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi reportedly sounded “healthy and fully confident" during the 30-minute meeting according to her lawyer Min Min Soe. Min Min Soe further added, "She (Aung San Suu Kyi) wishes her people to stay healthy as well as affirmed the NLD will exist as long as people exist because it was founded for people."

It was also observed that Aung San Suu Kyi received delayed legal court trial and her lawyers struggled to gain contact with their client. Aung San Suu Kyi's next hearing is set for June 7, 2021. Min Min Soe also said that she met the former president of Myanmar Win Myint, who was ousted and detained along with Suu Kyi.

Myanmar is observing protests almost every day and a nationwide civil disobedience movement. A local monitoring group reported that more than 800 people have been killed by the military of Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi and other members of the National League for Democracy (NLD) had been detained since the military coup as the government of Myanmar is overthrown and taken over by the military junta.
