Sherlyn Chopra bail: The actor who spoke up against Raj Kundra amidst the porn case controversy, applied for bail fearing an arrest. However, the High Court on July 29 rejected her bail.
The Mumbai High Court turned down Chopra's plea regarding an arrest in the ongoing probe in the pornography racket in which Kundra has been held in judicial custody for a period of 14 days.
Chopra recorded her statement with the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Property Cell.
In April, the actor had reportedly filed an FIR against Kundra in which she stated that she was sexually assaulted by him and charged him under section 376 of Indian Penal Code r/w section 384, 415, 420, 504 and 506, 354 (a) (b) (d), 509, of Indian Penal Code, 67, 67 (A), of Information Technology Act 2008, sec 3 & 4 of Indecent Representation of Women Act 1986.
Raj Kundra Accused Of Sexual Harassment
Chopra alleged in her complaint that Kundra showed up unannounced at her house due to a heated argument over a text. Following the same, Kundra allegedly started kissing Chopra without her consent and forced himself on her.
Chopra added in the complaint that when she told Kundra that she did not want to get involved in a relationship with a married man, Kundra allegedly told his relationship with his wife Shilpa Shetty was "complicated".
Raj Kundra Porn Case
The High Court refused Kundra's temporary relief plea on July 28 and opposed Kundra's bail plea stating that he is an influential person and can intimidate witnesses if released from jail.
Kundra was arrested on July 19 for allegedly making and distributing porn videos through some apps and websites. Although Kundra denied the charges of making porn, the police said that they have enough evidence against him and Kundra was the key conspirator in the racket.
The officials added that Kundra earned over Rs 1.17 crore last year by allegedly uploading pornographic content online through an app called Hotshots.
