Streaming platform HBO Max has officially announced the revival of popular series Sex and the City. The previous stars of the series Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, confirmed the news and shared a trailer for the series on their Instagram on Sunday. All the original leads from the show are set to return for its revival, except for Kim Cattrall who played the role of Samantha Jones.

The new chapter of the revived series is titled And Just Like That… and will feature 10 episodes that will be half an hour long. It will feature Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis who will resume their characters' journey, but this time through their 50’s. Along with director Michael Patrick King, Parker, Nixon, and Davis will act as executive producers of the show. The recently released trailer of the series doesn't reveal much and just shows shots of New York City. Reportedly, the production of the show is scheduled to begin in New York during late spring.
Expressing her excitement about the new chapter, Sarah Aubrey, the head of content at HBO said, “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” as quoted by Variety.

The original Sex and the City series was created by Darren Star and was launched in 1998. It ran for six seasons until 2004. The series was based on Candace Bushnell’s book by the same name. The show was also followed by two films in 2008 and 2010 with the same title.
