The Haryana government has come forward to make working women’s lives better and safer by requesting an immediate survey of all working women’s hostels. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently asked the women and child development department to come up with a report on the condition of these women’s hostels within the next two weeks, as reported by Indian Express.
There are about 16 working women’s hostels in different districts of the state but there is not much awareness about such hostels. They were made to provide a safe space for working women coming from different areas.
Khattar has told the department to raise awareness about these hostels for the benefit of the general public. The other issues discussed in the meeting were child labour and domestic violence.
