Haryana may be considered a state with widest gender gap and highest illiteracy level, but that did not stop Yukti Chaudhary to get elected from the Ward No 5 of Fatehabad Zila Parishad on Sunday. The 27-year-old Yukti also holds a Masters degree in Law for International Humans Rights from the prestigious Harvard Law School. She aims to push public health and literacy level for women and girls in her constituency.
“There are a lot of things I feel should be pushed for in a rural setting. Education, especially those of women, is something I feel strongly about. Then there is issue of women's health. We would also like to start a plantation drive on barren land,” cited Yukti to DNA.

Her naming as a candidate happen after her entire family decided to zero down on her. After the minimum education clause, everyone wanted the family to field a candidate and Yukti being the most educated among all the women was recommended for the position.
“There are many educated women in our family, but we decided to field Yukti as she is the most educated woman in our clan," says her brother-in law Akash Godara, stated The Quint.
