Gurugram Dalit Girl Raped, Murder Case: A Dalit girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her landlord's brother-in-law in Gurugram, Haryana, as per reports.
The 13-year-old girl and her family lived in Narela in North Delhi. According to reports, the deceased girl's father said that on July 17, the landlord's wife came in with news of her sister-in-law giving birth. She then took the girl with her to Gurugram so that she could play with the newborn. That is where the alleged crime took place. According to PTI, the police have arrested the landlord's brother-in-law based on the allegations made the deceased girl's father.
The girl's father reportedly said that the landlord told him on August 23 about the girl's death and cited food poisoning as the cause. When the girl's body was brought in ambulance by the landlord's family in Narela for cremation, the marks on her body were noticed, as per reports.
The neighbours of the family reportedly pointed out that the deceased girl had marks of injury on her face and the back of her body. They then asked the father to file a complaint with the police. As per reports, the post-mortem reports revealed that the girl died of manual smothering which resulted in lack of oxygen in her body. It also added that her body had injury marks in recent duration and “positive evidence of vaginal and anal sexual assault” were found.
The Gurugram police reportedly filed a First Information Report (FIR) in the case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The charges against the accused include murder, criminal conspiracy, sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act. The police later added that sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The Congress party's Delhi faction Chief Anil Kumar reportedly met the deceased girl's family members and demanded that the government should provide them financial assistance.
