Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is all set to tie the knot in Chandigarh on July 7, Thursday with a family friend. Reports state that the ceremony will be a quaint affair and only close friends and family will be in attendance.
Punjab CM is divorced from his first wife Inderpreet Kaur; they legally parted ways six years ago and have two children named Seerat Kaur Mann and Dilshan Mann. Both of his children flew in from the United States, where they live with their mother when Mann was sworn in as the new CM.
Congratulatory messages poured in for Mann after the news of his wedding broke out. “Wishing my chief minister Bhagwant Mann Ji a very happy and blessed married life ahead. I wish them both lifetime of love, respect and companionship," newly elected school education minister Harjot Singh Bains tweeted.
Sharing a photo of himself with Mann, Raghav Chaddha, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab chief, wrote, "Chhote da number vadde ton baad hi aunda hai. (The younger one's turn comes only when the elder one is settled). Best wishes to my vadde veer Bhagwant Mann Saab and Dr Gurpreet Kaur for a happy and blessed married life," replying to Mann's comment about him being the most eligible bachelor.
Reportedly, Bhagwant Mann and Dr Gurpreet Kaur have known each other for four years and met in 2019. The 32-year-old Kaur is from Pehowa, Haryana and their family shifted to Mohali, Punjab. She is the youngest of three sisters, her sister Navneet Kaur Neeru lives in America and her other sister Kamaljeet Kaur Gaggu resides in Australia. According to Kaur’s family’s neighbours, she completed her MBBS from Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU) in Ambala. She is currently working as a physician. Mann and Kaur’s marriage will be solemnized at a Gurudwara as per the traditional Anand Karaj, in accordance with Sikh rituals.

According to the reports, Mann will be marrying a family friend called Dr Gurpreet Kaur. The reports also state that it was Bhagwant Mann's mother and sister who persuaded him to marry again and also chose Kaur as his bride.
A report in a local news portal stated that Dr Gurpreet is from a middle-class family in Punjab and their families have been associated for a long time. The report stated that her family and she frequently visited his residence. Moreover, it is speculated that the arrangement of the wedding ceremony is being handled Raghav Chaddha.
Bhagwant Mann Wedding Guest List
Although there's no official confirmation about this yet, the speculations are rife that AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be attending the wedding ceremony with his family on Thursday. Apart from him, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia will purportedly be attending the ceremony as well.
It is believed that Mann's colleagues from Punjab Cabinet will also attend the wedding.
Speaking about Mann, he is a former actor and comedian who was born in a Jat Sikh family on 17 October 1973. Mann was chosen as the AAP candidate for the post of CM of Punjab ahead of the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections.
He has previously served two terms as a Member of Parliament from Lok Sabha representing Sangrur constituency, Punjab from 2014 until his resignation in 2022.
