In Two Recent Cases, Govt Employees Charged For Raping Minor And A Goat

A government employee in UP was held for raping a six-year-old girl and a goat. In another incident, a member of the Samajwadi Party has been accused of attempting to rape a 15-year-old girl.

In a heinous crime, an incident took place on August 13 at Ahmadgarh village in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused, Gajendra Singh is an agricultural development officer and has now been arrested while the girl is undergoing a medical examination.

As per the reports, the incident happened when Gajendra was going to meet an acquaintance. He saw the girl alone In the house and raped her. Then he went on to rape the goat tied outside the house. The video of the incident has been recorded by a local villager and is going viral on social media. 

FIR registered against the employee

The girl's father has registered an FIR with the Bulandshahar police, as per a media portal. 

The father said, "My daughter, who opened the door, told him not to come in as there was no one else in the house. The kid goat was tied to a pole. The incident took place around 5 pm. Singh had visited our house previously for work. On Monday, he didn’t listen to my daughter and instead sat down on the charpai.”

Gajendra Singh has been booked under Section 65(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita which punishes an accused for raping a minor less than 12 years old. The punishment is not less than 30 years and can even lead to life imprisonment if not a death sentence.

Shobhit Kumar, circle officer of Shikarpur, the tehsil under which Ahmadgarh falls said, “Around 10 pm Monday night, information was received that a man had sexually assaulted a minor girl. He also sexually assaulted a goat. A neighbour shot a video of the crime. The accused has been arrested and is in police custody.”

A similar incident 

In another shameful incident, a member of the Samajwadi party has been accused of attempting to rape a 15-year-old girl. The incident happened on August 11 in Uttar Pradesh. The accused, Nawab Singh Yadav, has been arrested. 

Around 1:30 am, Uttar Pradesh Police received a distress call on 113 helpline number. A girl said that she was stripped and someone attempted to rape her. 

Kannauj Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand told the media portal, "Last night around 1.30 am, a call was received on UP 112 wherein a girl said that she had been stripped and an attempt of assault had been made on her."

What happened at the spot of the crime?

When the police arrived at the spot, Nawab Singh Yadav was found in an "objectionable" position. The police rescued the teen and arrested Nawab Singh Yadav. 

Singh has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act, and further investigation is underway. During the questioning, the girl said that her paternal aunt had taken her to Yadav's residence for job opportunities. 

The court has sent Yadav to 14-day judicial custody. 

Politics fuming 

However, Yadav has denied the allegations and termed it a "capitalist controversy". He said, "This is a capitalist conspiracy. The victim denies this, but despite that, she will undergo a medical examination. We remain steadfast in our fight against this injustice."

After the allegations against Yadav, the Samajwadi Party is distancing itself from him. Kannauj District President Kaleem Khan said that Yadav is not part of the party. An official statement released by the party stated, "It is important to clarify that Nawab Singh Yadav, son of Chandan Singh Yadav, a resident of Addangapur, is not a member of the Samajwadi Party. Despite attempts to link him with the party, he has been engaged in anti-party activities for years and is not connected with us in any capacity.”
