Shooter Shreyasi Singh gave India a spectacular gold on Wednesday when she clinched the women’s double trap final at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. This is India's fourth gold medal in shooting in this CWG.

On the game front, when the final round was ongoing, Shreyasi hit both clays in the shootoff, while Emma Cox missed one.

Earlier in the day, Shreyasi's male counterpart Om Mitharval was the first Indian to win a medal when he clinched the men’s 50m pistol bronze.
With Shreyasi Singh's gold and Mitharval's bronze in 50 m pistol event, India's medals tally has increased to 23

Shreyasi Singh is one of India’s top shotgun shooters. In the 2010 CWG in Delhi, she had represented India in two events. While she failed miserably in one, she went on to win silver at the trap event.
In the 2014 CWG in Glasgow, Shreyasi made a mark, notching up two medals.

The 26-year-old recently won a silver medal in the double trap event at the 2017 Commonwealth Shooting Championships. She bagged a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon in the double trap team event. Shreyasi won the medal along with Shagun Chowdhary and Varsha Varman. Eventually, she turned out to be a big medal contender for India at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
