Three female students from a pre-university college (PUC) in Dakshina Kannada's Kadaba have suffered third-degree burns after a youth threw acid on the face of a 17-year-old girl injuring two girls along with her as well on Monday.
The youth who wore a mask and a cap to conceal his identity before committing the horrific has been identified as Abin, 23, hailing from a neighbourhood district Kasaragod in Kerala from where the targetted girl's mother hails as well. The culprit was chased by the eyewitnesses after the crime and was handed over to the cops.

Three second-year PUC girls from the science stream were reportedly sitting in the corridors of the Government PU college at Kadaba preparing for the upcoming PUC exams of Physics when the attack took place, said a police officer.
According to the reports, the attacker entered the college premises with a bottle of acid and threw the abrasive liquid on a 17-year-old girl sitting with two of her classmates. The 17-year-old girl suffered severe burns due to acid poured on her while the other two girls also got injured as the acid fell on them as well.
All three of the injured victims were immediately rushed to a nearby government hospital but the doctors suggested the families shift the girls to a private hospital in Mangalore for better medical treatment as the burns were extensive where they are currently being treated.
The three girls identified as Aleena, Archana, and Amrita were standing on the college balcony moments before their physics exam when the assailant attacked them on the college premises from a bike.
Abin after the attack tried to escape the crime place but the eye witnesses successfully managed to nab him handing him to police officers of Kadaba police station who are currently investigating the matter. Reports also suggested that the mother of the main targetted survivor also hails from Kerala.
