English author and television personality Giovanna Fletcher has opened up about suffering a miscarriage in 2012. She also praised Meghan Markle for sharing her ordeal. Fletcher revealed that she miscarried at six weeks before her eldest child, Buzz, was born. She has three children with husband Tom Fletcher.

She told The Sun, “It took me years to be able to talk about it, but once you do it’s hugely comforting to know that you’re not alone”.

Giovanna further said that during a miscarriage, one needs people in their life to be supportive. One doesn’t have to be ashamed or think that they have done anything wrong. She appreciated Markle for speaking out about her own miscarriage and said that she would love to interview her on her podcast.

Fletcher thinks that it’s important that people are open about miscarriages. It helps so many people, because it’s such a lonely thing to go through and hearing other people express themselves can help people understand what they are going through is so important.

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle had earlier revealed that she suffered a miscarriage in July this year.  She described it as a feeling of “unbearable grief”. She spoke about going through an emotionally traumatic experience before she found herself in a hospital bed with her husband by her side. Last year, the 39-year-old Markle and Prince Harry had their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.
