71-year-old  Virginia Lenore MacColl from the United States has proven age is just a number. She has been recognized by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the oldest female ninja.

GWR Celebrates Achievement

GWR released a video showcasing MacColl navigating obstacle courses filled with diverse challenges. In the video, she is depicted climbing, jumping, and swinging from a bar.

GWR shared the achievement with the caption: "Oldest competitive ninja athlete (female). Competed at the age of 70 years 90 days." According to GWR's blog, MacColl began participating in ninja warrior competitions at the age of 66, inspired by her daughter's involvement in American Ninja Warrior.

The GWR video shows MacColl showcasing her agility by leaping from one platform to another, swinging from a bar while proudly holding her Guinness World Records certificate. Throughout the video, she shares insights about her incredible journey.

The video has garnered over 353K views and received a range of comments. Many congratulated her, some were inspired by her, and others expressed their admiration using heart emojis.

MacColl Shares Her Experience

MacColl mentioned that her husband is her biggest supporter, even though he cannot travel due to medical reasons. She also discussed her diet, which primarily consists of a Mediterranean diet featuring fish, vegetables, some chicken, and turkey, while avoiding dairy and soda, and limiting sugar consumption.

When speaking to Guinness World Records about being an athlete at her age, she emphasized, "Age and inexperience should never be a barrier. It’s just part of the journey."

MacColl's Journey

Now recognized as one of the 2,638 record-holders in the 2024 edition of the "Guinness World Records," MacColl aims to inspire individuals of her own age group. Over the past seven years, as she pursued her passions, she noticed that people have started to follow her journey and have been inspired by the idea that one can continue to excel as they age and grow stronger. This, in turn, has fueled her determination to persist.

Presently, MacColl is involved in acting, stunt work, competitive swimming, and her ninja pursuits. She is currently focusing on mastering an obstacle known as the "vertical limit."
