Sex Education series actor Gillian Anderson launches an era-defining exploration of women and sex. Anderson wants to hear real-life stories and chronicle the sex lives of women from around the world.
Anderson is inviting letters from all women, to reveal their sexual fantasies. The letters under anonymity will be compiled into the book, to be published by Bloomsbury. It will also include a revelatory portrait of women’s sexuality and what it means to be a woman today. Live sexual experiences can be wild to the mundane, this book seems to be an inclusive, intersectional new classic for the twenty-first century.
The book is said to be inspired by the revolutionary bestseller, My Secret Garden, compiled by Nancy Friday in 1973.
Gillian Anderson Book
Gillian Anderson said, "As women, we know that sex is about more than just sex. But so many of us don’t talk about it. Our deepest, most intimate fears and fantasies remain locked away inside of us until someone comes along with the key. Here is the key. I want to hear from you. This will be an anonymous, revelatory book compiling your letters to me to explore how women think about sex. Because when we talk about sex, we talk about womanhood and motherhood, infidelity and exploitation, consent and respect, fairness and egalitarianism, love and hate, pleasure, and pain.
Further added, "Is there a fantasy you’ve never told anyone about? Something you’d share with only the most trusted of confidants if anyone at all? Wherever you come from, whomever you do or don’t sleep with, whether you’re eighteen or eighty: I want to hear from you. Write to me, starting your letter Dear Gillian.”
On twitter, she tweeted, "I’m launching a major exploration of women and sex – and I want to hear from YOU. Help us to create a revolutionary book for now and for future generations by writing me a letter."
