Ghislaine Maxwell is back in the news. Her family has sought pretrial release for the accused co-conspirator of the late Jeffrey Epstein, a serial sex-offender in the United States. Reports in America media quoted court documents made public on Monday, saying Maxwell will pay a bond package and 'will not flee.'
Maxwell's supporters and family in their appeal talked of “Maxwell’s strong, forthright character” and “their confidence that she will not flee.” Maxwell's lawyers put in a renewed motion for bail and also added a bond worth $28.5 million secured by three U.S. properties owned by Maxwell and her husband.
Maxwell has been in the news as the high-flying socialite who closely worked with Jeffrey Epstein and allegedly helped procure young and underaged girls. In an eye opening feature, Netflix did a documentary on Epstein's lifestyle and his crimes. Many women shared horrific details on how he and Maxwell lured them to 'massage' Epstein and fulfil his needed in return for money.
Maxwell is the youngest daughter of British publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell, who has been reported as a supremely well connected and networked woman who used her contacts to support Epstein. ABC reports, that following Epstein's death in August 2019, prosecutors vowed to hold accountable anyone who allegedly conspired with him or participated in his alleged child-sex trafficking crimes.
