Who Is Princess Xenia? German Royal Poses Naked On Magazine Cover

Princess Xenia of Saxony became the first royal to pose naked for the magazine cover of Playboy in its local edition. The German princess from the oldest family of nobility says while her relatives wouldn't approve of it, her great-grandfather would have.

Going out of the way of orthodox royal conduct, the German Princess of Saxony Xenia Florence Gabriela Sophie Iris Prinzessin von Sachsen Herzogin zu has become the first aristocrat to pose topless for the magazine cover of Playboy in its local March 2024 edition.

37-year-old Princess Xenia of Saxony is a German descendant of the 1000-year-old House of Wettin, a historical royal dynasty while her great-grandfather, King Friedrich August III was the last King to rule Saxony from 1908-1918. The princess is using the opportunity to break the mould of aristocrats to spread body positivity through her bold move as a royal descendant.

Quite unlikely for the royals, Princess Xenia of Saxony recently posed bare-body for the adult magazine for its cover of the local edition of March 2024, giving a bold interview. Princess Xenia stated her motive for partaking in a bold photoshoot for an adult magazine is to promote that every woman is beautiful, she told Bild that she wants to show that, "They all are as beautiful as I am and how I am" sharing "I have stretch marks and I am proud to show them off",

The princess also talked about her great-grandfather King August III who died in 1932 and was the last King of Saxony. She claimed that her great-grandfather would have "approved" the photoshoot as he was liberal and she felt they shared a special connection.

The princess, however, also acknowledged that her present-day royal family and relatives will not approve of the photoshoot stating "I would be surprised if they bought a copy" yet she expressed that she hopes they will at least "tolerate" it.

Describing the feeling of hailing from a royal origin, the princess shared that in her childhood she used to feel "terrible" as her royal title was revealed when she was in Class 7 where she recounted her classmates' biased behaviour towards her. 

However, the princess now describes her heritage as a "blessing" to make the most of her stature as it has given her numerous opportunities to star in reality TV shows like BBC's Three Undercover Princess, Summer House of the Stars, Die Burg, and her infamous Battle of the Reality Stars. 

Controversial Ways Of Challenging Royal Conventions

This is not the first time Princess Xenia has challenged the traditional royal norms with her controversial moves. Princess Xenia who is also a singer and a columnist founded a pop band and has a bold Instagram presence while her media presence for a long time has shaken the royals of her family. 

In 2011, she also made some valiant claims in her biography 'Xenia: The Life of a Princess in the 21st Century' revealing her royal ancestry. However, like every book by royals revealing the insides of the royal families is met with a lot of criticism by the family, this also received some hard rattled responses, as the House of Wettin, the oldest documented nobility descendants rejected her claims in the book. 

The head of the dynasty that is now defuncted, Maria Emanuel described the biography as a "faux pas" and "misfortune for the House of Wettin" and stated that the Princess of Saxony is nothing and she can't have a biography.

Despite the criticism faced within and outside the family, Princess Xenia continues to live her life bravely breaking the traditional ways of her royal family and owning to what she believes in. She also continues to work towards charity and professing body positivity as well while living life outside the rule book.
