The atmosphere at the 127-year-old temple in Pune was breathtaking as devotees gathered in large numbers on an early Sunday morning to celebrate Lord Ganesha. The temple’s idol, known as Icchapurti Ganesha, is revered for granting wishes. The idol is reportedly made of pure silver.

Mahesh Suryawanshi, Treasurer of the Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati Trust, told Asian News International, “On the festival of Rishi Panchami (the day after Ganesh Chaturthi), 42,000 women performed pooja. India World Record also took cognizance of it and has given us a certificate.”
