G Madhuri Reddy from Telangana has secured All India 7th rank overall in the NEET UG 2019 and is also the All India Topper in female students' category. She has got 695 out of 720 marks.
Future plans
She is nurturing the dream of becoming a Cardiologist in the future. She hopes to get a good rank to secure a seat in the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi.
“It was my childhood dream to become a doctor and I am happy that I could realise it in my first attempt itself,” said Reddy, a resident of Madhapur in Hyderabad after results of the NEET exam were published on Wednesday. Madhuri also secured 5th rank in AP Eamcet 2019.
“I have been pursuing my dream since seventh standard. I have joined the foundation course for medicine in seventh class itself at Narayana Group of Institutions,” she said.

Her family support system
Her father G Thirupathi Reddy is a software engineer in Hyderabad. She has one younger brother G Charan Reddy, who is currently studying in Class 8.
Her mother is a homemaker. “Right from the childhood, Madhuri has been brilliant in her studies and she secured 98.6 per cent marks in her Intermediate (Class 12). She used to put in 10-12 hours of hard work every day,” her father said.

The topper said that it was her parents' constant motivation that propelled her to achieve what she has. She also said that her lecturers at the institute were of great help.

She, however, emphasised that she was not stuck with her books all the time. Playing badminton, watching movies and cricket matches on television were some of the activities she liked and indulged in.
She has also appeared for entrance examinations for admission into the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and also the Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) and hopes to clear them.

The national topper in this year’s NEET UG examination was Nalin Khandelwal, of Rajasthan, who scored 701 marks.
Marks are important but not matter of life and death. However, not everyone understands this. A 17-year-old girl from nearby Tirupur allegedly committed suicide because she was upset over her inability to clear the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). Police said Rithushree failed to clear NEET and out of depression hung herself in her house. They also mentioned that she was hopeful of clearing the test and joining the medical course as she scored 490 marks in the 12th Standard, according to police.
This year, 15, 19, 375 candidates had registered and 14, 10,755 appeared for the entrance test, out of which 7, 97,042 students have qualified. As many as 67.44 per cent students have qualified out of 48,996 students who appeared for the entrance test from Telangana. The qualifying percentage from the State has come down from 68.88 in 2018 to 67.44.The NEET is conducted for admissions into MBBS and BDS courses in the medical and dental courses run in colleges approved by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India.
