If we asked you to name actresses who come from the state of Bengal, the names that come to mind would no doubt be Aparna Sen, Sharmila Tagore and Konkona Sen Sharma or Rituparna Sengupta.  But how about a few from the current crop of actresses who rule the roost in the Bengali film industry? In her early 30s, Ganguly is the highest paid actress in the Bengali film industry. Her innocent looks work wonders with the audience and with the result she has become the most successful actress in the last decade. She has been a part of movies like Challenge, Poran Jai Jolia Re, Romeo, Khokababu, Romeo 420, Boss, Ami Sudhu Cheyechi Tomay and Game. She has won the Best Actress Award twice in her career.

This diva has been in the industry for quite a while now, thanks to the list of her hit movies. Married to producer Nispal Singh Rane, she becomes the choice for most films coming out of his successful production house. She has also featured in some very successful commercials of  brands like Vaseline, Fair and Lovely and TVS motors. She inspires women in her industry to work and earn fame.

She started with a few small budget movies but her looks and acting skills grabbed a lot of attention which finally resulted in her bagging some of the most sought after roles of the Bengali Film industry. Currently she is married to director of Bengali and Hindi films Rajib but continues to work for all production houses. Her influential husband and his production house no doubt add to her fame, but there is no denying the fact that her commercial success is due to her talent.

Mimi has made a reputation of having a temper in the film fraternity but it is her great looks and acting skills which have helped her bag some of the best of the roles in the biggest blockbusters of Bengali Cinema.

She may be one of the newest members of the Bengali Film industry but she has managed to make a mark in films like with the Bengali Superstar Jeet. She is soaring high on her fame and is slowly gaining a lot of popularity. Her Movie with Jeet called Awara which releases in 2014 was a blockbuster, earning more than 30 Crore.
