Dalit Woman Rape Case: The police have arrested four men and detained two minor for allegedly raping a Dalit woman on multiple occasions. The case was registered by the rape survivor in the Dehu Road police station in Pune on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old woman belonged to the Dalit community and was allegedly in a relationship with one of the accused. The other five men were his friends according to the police statement. The accused man took the Dalit woman's pictures and allegedly threatened her to circulate them.
The Senior Inspector Vilas Sonde of Dehu Road police station said, "After threatening to circulate her photos, all the six accused allegedly raped her on multiple occasions at different places between January and May this year." The police added that the rape survivor approached the police on Tuesday night and after a preliminary probe, they filed an FIR. "We have arrested the four accused and detained two others, who are minors," the police said in their statement. dalit woman rape
All the six accused have been arrested under sections 342, 276 (1), 376 (5), 377, 323, 504, 506 and 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code, sections of the Information Technology Act and also sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
