Pune Gangrape case: A 25-year-old woman who is suspected to be differently-abled was raped by four men after she was taken to a room. The four accused were arrested on Friday, as per police officials.

One of the four accused men had reportedly taken the survivor to a room in Janta Vasahat from the Swargate area on Friday. After taking her there, the four allegedly raped her one by one. The residents around the room heard the cries of the woman survivor and informed the police, all four men were then arrested.
The four accused men are identified as Aditya Pawar (19), Shrikant Sarode (36), Ashish Mohite (18) and Durvesh Jadhav (36). The accused were produced in front of the court which remanded them to police custody till September 4. The police are still investigating the case. The 25-year-old survivor is suspected to be differently-abled and her medical test is ongoing.
A police official said in a statement reported by ANI, "Four accused have been arrested from Janta Vasahat area in Pune, Maharashtra for allegedly gang-raping a 25 years old woman. They were produced before a court, which sent them to police custody till September 4."

Krishna Indalkar who is the Senior police inspector of Dattawadi police station said in his statement, "This is a serious incident. We have arrested four persons and they have been taken to court."
Mysuru gangrape case
A student in Mysore was gangraped by two robbers while her boyfriend was beaten and thrashed by the other members of the gang after the couple had denied giving them money. The police are still investigating the case and have arrested five persons.
After the gangrape was taken up by the media, a row of allegations was thrown by the ruling and opposing parties of Karnataka on each other. Congress ministers said that the gangrape happened after BJP had come into power. BJP Minister Shivram Hebbar replied to the allegations and said, " Such incidents of rape happen all the time."
