When Neha Bhasin launched her singing career in year 2002 with Channel V-sponsored pop group Viva, she became a household name among the youth. Eventually, the group broke up and Neha carved out her name in Bollywood.
Neha who wanted to be a pop star since childhood, trained in classical singing under Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
She has lent her voice as a playback singer to many Bollywood movies. She won awards for best playback singer for the songs "Dhunki" from Mere Brother ki Dulhan, "Jag ghoomeya" from Sultan.
Her song ‘Kuch khas hai' from the movie Fashion is one of the top romantic songs and had won praises right after its release in 2008. Neha has worked with many established music directors in the industry. Apart from Hindi songs, Bhasin has also given super hits for Telugu and Tamil movies.
Neha has also won many accolades in the international arena too. She collaborated with Malaysian pop star Emcee Jesz to produce hip-hop number ‘Thaniye’ which was nominated for the best collaboration at the Radio Raga Awards in Malaysia in the year 2008-09.
Her first acting debut in Bollywood was in the movie Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi, which released in 2012. She has been an anchor in reality shows like Sa re ga ma pa and Sitaron ko chhoona hai.
Neha has also released many independent albums, notably Tabaah, Tera Mera, and Apple Bottoms. Neha has been performing on stage nationally as well as internationally. She has given live performances in Global Music Awards 2010, Radio Mirchi Awards 2011, etc.
She is married to music composer Sameer Uddin.
