flexible working for women: Women professionals in India are demanding flexibility in the workplace. They are, unfortunately, paying a very heavy price for that. According to a survey by LinkedIn, 72 percent of women are turning down job roles due to a lack of flexibility. If they manage to find flexible jobs, they often come with pay cuts.

Here are the findings of the survey
- At least 83 percent of working women have expressed their desire to work more flexibly
- 72 percent of working women are avoiding job roles that don’t offer flexibility.
- 70 percent have already quit or considered quitting their jobs because of lack of right flexible policies.
“Flexible working is the No 1 priority today for all professionals, especially for working women. In fact, our research finds that India is at the brink of a ‘flexidus’ with seven out of ten working women quitting or considering quitting their jobs due to lack of flexibility," said Ruchee Anand, Senior Director, India Talent and Learning Solutions, LinkedIn.
- According to these women, flexible working has a huge role to play in improving their work-life balance, progressing in their careers and focus on their mental health
- But their requests were not met in an encouraging way. These women had to either face pay cuts or they had their requests denied, as per a report.

- As a result, women are now reluctant towards asking for greater flexibility because they fear exclusion at the workplace.
- The ones who get a flexible work environment shy away from telling the same to their friends and relatives fearing stigma.
