Flag bearers at Tokyo Olympics: Indian boxer, Mary Kom and the captain of India men's national field hockey team, Manpreet Singh will be the flag bearers at the Tokyo Olympics of the Indian contingent.
The two sportspeople will bear the flag at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. Besides, Indian wrestler, Bajrang Punia will be the flag bearer of the contingent at the closing ceremony.

The boxer, Mary Kom
Six-time world champion and a bronze medallist at the 2012 Olympics, Mary Kom is all set to bag her an Olympic gold medal this year. Kom, competing in the women's 51kg category will be looking to script history in Tokyo. She is one of India's biggest hope for the medal at the upcoming Games. The boxer has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics after a triumphant win over the Philippines’ Irish Magno in the semi-final of the Asian qualifiers.
Born in Manipur, Kom is the first Indian woman boxer to win a Gold Medal in the Asian Games in 2014 in South Korea. She is also the first Indian woman boxer ever to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Given the title of “Meethoi Leima”, she has also been felicitated with Padma Bhushan, Arjuna Award, Padma Shri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and more.
Hockey player, Manpreet Singh
Indian field hockey player and the captain of India men's national field hockey team, Manpreet Singh Sandhu debuted for India at the age of 19 in 2011. Sandhu represented India at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Hailing from Mithapur, Jalandhar, lead the Indian team in the path of victory and won the Asia Cup in 2017, the Asian Champions Trophy in 2018, and the FIH Series Final in 2019, consecutively.
Indian wrestler, Bajrang Punia
The Indian wrestler, Bajrang Punia is currently ranked number 1 in the 65 kg weight category. Hailing from Haryana, he is the only Indian wrestler to have won three medals at the World Wrestling Championship.
