Rema Rajeshwari is a hero for creating positive initiatives in Telangana. She has now taken up the charge of SP Jogulamba Gadwal district in Telangana today.
Before taking up this post, the firebrand IPS officer, Rajeshwari was serving as the SP of Mahbubnagar in Telangana.

“When I decided that I wanted to be an IPS officer, the response that I got was absolutely negative. My own parents didn't believe in me. I quit my job as a software engineer and lived in Delhi as a copyeditor to support my education. My parents were ashamed to introduce me. But ultimately, I just went ahead and got through the exams,” Rajeshwari talked about the initial challenges she faced at the ThinkEdu Conclave, Edexlive reported.

Started her career in the Police service as an Assault Commander, Rajeshwari has is known for her distinguish works in various challenging assignments. Serving the country for nearly a decade now, her integrity and passion led her to impress people everywhere she goes. Known for honesty professional ethics, she has become a role model for teenage girls of Telangana.
“Most of the parents think that it is apt for a woman to settle for a traditional job of a nurse or a teacher,” Rajeshwari hailed.
Her birth place is Munnar of Kerala and she belongs to 2009 batch of the IPS. Rajeshwari was named as the best lady IPS officer of the batch in the NPA, Hyderabad.
“Surviving in the department is difficult for a woman. You have to prove yourself on a daily basis. People don't always understand your needs. I was an assault commander in my first posting. I was the only woman on the team and I had to stay in a jungle for ten days,” she talked about women in force. “But I have always advocated that we need to have more women in the department, so that we become more gender sensitive,” she added.

During her tenure till now, some of her most impressive works include Community Outreach Program, which creates awareness against social vices and she runs campaigns such as Saving Child Brides, Child Laborers’ Rescue, SHE Teams, Legal Literacy for Underprivileged Rural Women, and Rehabilitation of Joginis, girls who forced into prostitution. Her most recent initiative, Balyaniki Raksha promotes community outreach program on child safety that works to educate the children of rural India to break the silence around child sexual abuse.
