Arnab Goswami Arrested: Case Background
In May 2018, Anvay Naik, a 53-year-old interior designer based in Maharashtra's Alibaug, along with his mother had reportedly died by suicide. The suicide note mentioned news anchor Goswami's name, alleging non-payment of dues. In 2019, the case had been closed.
Then in May this year, Naik’s daughter Adnya met with Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, following which he ordered a CID investigation into the case. In relation to this, two others, aside from Goswami, have been arrested by the police today. Republic TV has denied all charges.
