Film Producer Who Stabbed Malvi Malhotra Arrested Upon Discharge From Hospital

The Versova Police have arrested the film producer who allegedly stabbed actor Malvi Malhotra at Sunderwadi in Andheri on Monday night. The producer reportedly met with an accident after he stabbed the actress. Police took Yogesh Mahipal Singh in custody after he was discharged from Platinum hospital on Wednesday.

According to the Times of India, Singh was produced before the Andheri metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday. The court remanded him to police custody till November 2.

Singh was found on Tuesday at the hospital where a Versova police team went and enquired with him about the incident. He was hospitalised there for his treatment. An FIR (First Information Report) was registered against him at the Versova police station.

The actress told the police that she knew the accused for the one year and he wanted to marry her, but she rejected the proposal. She is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. 

Her friend and fashion designer  Karishma Trehan wrote on Twitter, “Malvi Malhotra is out of danger her operation was successful but another big surgery is happening tomorrow she is using  her earnings  as her bill ran into over 6 lacs already it’s a plea that the operation fee waived off since it’s a crime case.”  Trehan also tagged the National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson, Rekha Sharma in her tweet.

Malhotra told TOI that that money was not the prime issue but the government must take action against Singh and she wanted speedy justice. She also said that the doctors are not satisfied with her left small finger that was operated. They want to check if the veins have been fixed properly. Her left small finger was stitched earlier after it got detached when Singh slashed her hands.

About the incident

Malvi Malhotra was allegedly stabbed by Yogesh Mahipal Singh in the abdomen and in both hands, on October 26. The incident took place when she was reportedly returning from a cafe after a work meeting. Singh stopped her on the way and asked her to get into his vehicle. He questioned her for avoiding him which later on transforming into a heated argument. Following the argument, Singh allegedly stabbed Malhotra. She was taken to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. You can read more from here

According to the police, Singh was trying to escape from Mumbai after attacking the actor but he reportedly met with an accident on the Mumbai Ahmedabad highway. With the help of a mobile location, he was traced to the hospital.
