This is the time when a lot of women-centric movies are coming to the fore. Both Bollywood and Hollywood are churning out feminist movies and it’s never been more mainstream than today when people across the world want to watch women be the hero.
DC Comics became a huge hit with kids a long time back and is still going strong in people’s past and present. Superman, Batman, and the likes are the epitomes of strength and compassion. These series are embedded in our lives for goos. But where the female super heroes? When will be go beyond Tomb Raider style stuff?
Enter woman superhero - Wander Woman. This is the one that's breaking barriers. Wonder woman is gifted, who has survived all ages now with an array of qualities and supreme battle skills. Her possessions include numerous weapons like the Lasso of Truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets and a mighty mind.
She is known to fight for peace, justice and gender equality making her a famous feminist icon. The character -based in the amazon - she fights many ornate enemies and is a creation of the American psychologist and writer, William Moulton.
Wonder Woman appeared briefly as a television series in the 1970s; however, this is the first time that a movie on this woman superhero is scheduled. It is expected that the movie is going to be set in World War I. Then the movie will shift to the modern times in a modern setting.
“Wonder Woman is the most popular female comic-book superhero of all time. It's exciting the Amazonian Goddess is finally getting her just cinematic due next year in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice followed by her own standalone film in 2017,” in a report by Heroic Hollywood.
The standalone film is claimed to be directed by Patty Jenkins after the exit of Michelle Maclaren.
“Industry insiders have indicated that since Warner Bros. wanted a more character-driven story that is light on action, MacLaren's desire for an epic origin tale was the reason she parted with the studio,” stated in Variety.
