The female cadets at the National Defence Academy (NDA) based in Khadakwasla, Maharashtra have chosen to sport military-style crew cuts like their male counterparts despite it not being mandatory for them to do so.

The NDA began inducting women for the first time in July 2022 and they are allowed to keep "choice-based short hair".

Officers said the female cadets chose to sport crew cuts for ease of training and to better fit into the armed forces.

Golfer Kathy Whitworth Passes Away At 83

American golfer Kathy Whitworth, the first female golfer to earn a million dollars passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24.

Her partner, Betty Oddle, said Whitworth passed away while celebrating Christmas with her family and friends. Throughout her illustrious career, the golfer won 88 professional tournaments, including six major championships.

Chattisgarh School Principal Arrested For Molesting 7-Year-Old Girl

The Chattisgarh Police arrested the principal of a school in the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old student.

The accused has been identified as Gajendra Prasad, the principal of a government school.

According to the police, the minor girl told her relatives and a meeting was held by the villagers on Sunday, in which the accused was also called. The villagers thrashed the accused, who escaped and hid in the school.

Kerala Girl Dies By Suicide, Grandfather Arrested After Suicide Note Reveals Sexual Abuse

A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with the suicide of his 19-year-old granddaughter after the police recovered a suicide note. The note revealed that the girl's grandfather sexually abused her. The initial probe revealed that she had been sexually abused since she was in Class 7.

The accused hid the note following the girl's death but it was recovered later. As per the police, the accused admitted to the crime.

6 School Girls Injured In Stampede-Like Situation at Temple

At least six girl students were hospitalised after being injured in a stampede-like situation at the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Madhya Pradesh.

The students were part of a 70-member group of students from Hrudananda High School who had come to Puri for a picnic during the Christmas holiday.
