Faridabad rape case: In a gruesome incident, an employee of a private hospital in Faridabad Sector 16 allegedly raped a minor girl on Saturday and was arrested within hours. The 14-year-old survivor was allegedly raped by a hospital staffer who reportedly took her to the building’s basement of the hospital on the pretext of “some urgent work” while her father was undergoing dialysis treatment on the same premises.
The accused, identified as Raj Kishore, 24, of Bharat Colony in Faridabad, close to the national capital, was arrested the same day. Kishore is a housekeeping supervisor at the hospital and has been working there for the last few months, the police said.
The minor’s father, in his complaint to the police, said that his daughter accompanied him to the hospital for his dialysis treatment around 11 am on Saturday. While he was getting his treatment done, the accused lured the girl, asking her to follow him “for some urgent work regarding her father’s treatment” while she was returning from the washroom. He then allegedly raped her and fled after the incident, the father alleged, Hindustan Times reported.
The minor survivor narrated her ordeal and her family members reported to Sector 16 police station. A case was registered under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and teams were formed within minutes, police said adding and medical examination of the survivor was also conducted.
An inspector from the women’s police station in Sector 16 also reached the spot along with her team and the crime branch to investigate the crime and the suspect was identified through the CCTV footage. The hospital staff also helped. “The teams arrested him within hours based on human intelligence and technical surveillance. He was sent to judicial custody on Sunday,” as per the officers.
The Faridabad police is also examining the accused's past records to see if he was involved in any other criminal incidents and recorded the statements of hospital staff and family members as well. The minor girl will be given counselling sessions through the child welfare committee once she is stable.
The accused was produced in court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
