Walking the ramp for Victoria's Secret is one of the biggest dreams for models across the world. But it is only a few who get the coveted ‘Angel’ tag attached to their names for walking the ramp for the biggest luxury lingerie brand across the globe.
Models who walk the ramp for VS sport the most exotic lingerie and look like a million bucks in them. But this is no child’s play. One has to slog the whole year round to be selected for the ramp show which happens only once a year.
So what really goes on behind the scenes for these svelte models such as Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks? One might think these models, who have the world at their feet, have nothing to be insecure about. But this is not true as Bella Hadid, a VS Angel, told People, “I think every single person in the world has insecurities. It’s crazy because I think that when other people look at all of the VS models or all of the girls

Kendell Jenner, from the famous Kardashian family, actually got emotional when she went for her first fitting. “I had tears. You know when you feel it in your throat — that you’re about to cry. I held myself back. I stopped myself. Honestly, the show is such a dream come true. So walking in it is a really big deal for me. I’m extremely excited. I just hope I don’t cry
VS Angel Ella Hosk, who has been modelling since the age of 14 and was ‘discovered’ by the industry, said she never thought she would be walking VS shows in her life. She expressed her joy to Harper’s Bazaar saying, “I never thought I would get to the point where I was walking Victoria’s Secret fashion shows and being an Angel. It’s all still really surreal to me. My brother is like, ‘You are a Victoria’s Secret Angel?’ He cannot believe it. When I told him the first time he was like, ‘You? On that catwalk?’ So it’s such an amazing surprise for me in my career to be able to do this.”
But what does it take to get that hot bod? What’s the routine like for a model going to walk in a VS show? Alessandra Ambrosio told E! that it’s all about keeping oneself hydrated and eating healthy. “It’s hard because we just had Halloween, so you want to eat all this candy, but forget the candy! Thanksgiving is just before we film the show, so we just try to be as healthy as we can and work out.”
While it looks all glamorous and swanky on the outside, it literally means that one has to slog to get that body and walking the ramp is a hell of a deal for women who are in the modelling industry.
