Actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra have been making headlines for a long time. After getting bail, Kundra had made an emotional statement publicly about being "witch-hunted" and ruthlessly "tried by the media." Once again, Kundra is in a soup. The Enforcement Directorate has booked him for a money laundering case.
The money laundering is in connection to the pornographic racket in 2021, which had led to the businessman's arrest by the Mumbai Police for allegedly running a pornographic racket with operations outside India as well. The ED is reportedly going to investigate the financial transactions related to the case.
The case had broken out in February 2021, when the investigating police had started making arrests in connection to a case wherein women were allegedly forced to star in pornographic films. Kundra's arrest was in connection with this case and he was accused to be the key conspirator. The content was being distributed through subscription-based applications like HotHit Movies and Hotshots, as well as sites like Hothitmovies, Nuefliks and Esacapenow.

The Hotshots app was taken down, it was developed by Armsprime Media Private Limited, which is a firm founded by Kundra in 2019. They later sold the app to Kenrin Limited, which is a UK-based company owned by Kundra's brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi.
Throughout the investigation, the police found clips from Kundra's office and WhatsApp chats which showed that he was not an official part of the Kenrin Private Limited. However, he was allegedly the one running the day-to-day operations of uploading content on the app.
In the past, on December 20, 2021, Kundra had talked about the case in public and called the reports on him "misleading and irresponsible." He also denied being part of the production and distribution of porn. "However, unfortunately, I have already been pronounced guilty by the media and my family and I have been subjected to a lot of pain, violating my human and constitutional rights at the different levels," he said.
He stated that for the moment his family is his priority and that everyone has a right to live with dignity. He was arrested in July, 2021 and the given bail in September for a bail bond of Rs 50,000.
