Kamala Harris' Husband Doug Emhoff Tested Positive For COVID-19

As the world is trying to groove back into stepping out for work and education, the COVID-19 cases have become background statistics. But the truth is that the virus is still lurking around and one needs to maintain the protocols around it. Recently, the husband of the Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris, Doug Emhoff tested positive for COVID-19.

The Deputy Press Secretary of Harris, Sabrina Singh, in a statement said, "Earlier today, the Second Gentlemen tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, the Vice President will not participate in tonight's event (on Equal Pay Day). The Vice President tested negative for COVID-19 today and will continue to test."

On Tuesday afternoon, the day Emhoff tested positive, Harris appeared with President Joe Bidden at an event, which marked the signing of a $1.5 trillion fund.

Doug Emhoff Covid Positive

At the Equal Pay Day, Biden said that he has been informed that Emhoff  is not well and addressing Harris' absence there, he said, "Let's send her our love." Both Harris and Emhoff have received the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and then their second dose after Inauguration Day in 2021. In October, last year, they had received the Booster dose as well.

Who Is Doug Emhoff?

Born in 1964 in Brooklyn, New York, Emoff was raised in New Jersey and attended Jewish summer camp as a child.

After finishing his graduation, Emhoff pursued law at the University of Southern California. He went on to work as a lawyer, who had specialised in media sports and entertainment law.

When Harris was nominated as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the Democrat, he was a partner with the firm named DLA Piper. He met Harris in a blind date arrangement by his client Reginald Hudlin. At that time, Harris was the California Attorney General.

They got married in 2014 at a courthouse in Santa Barbara in California.
