Actor-producer Anushka Sharma, who is expecting her first baby says she will teach her child to be equally respectful towards everyone. "This is something I learned from my parents, and I want to impart the same quality to my child," she said.
Sharma, who hasn't talked much about her pregnancy since the time she announced it in August has opened up about her parenting plans to Vogue. She talks about her and cricketer-husband Virat Kohli's approach towards life post-delivery.

Sharma on raising her child said, "We don’t want to raise brats.” Sharma says, "Being in the spotlight should not make any difference because I think there are quite many similarities in the way we are as people and the way we approach life. I had this idea long before I became a parent." Adding further, she says, "Love is a significant factor in our home, and it's more important for us to create a value structure for a child and impart the quality of being equally respectful towards everyone."
While talking about it, Sharma also disclosed that the couple has decided to keep their child away from the eye of social media. "We thought about it for a long time. And we have decided that we definitely do not want to raise our child in the spotlight of the public eye and social media. Moreover, we no sooner plan to engage our child in social media."

"No child should feel differentiated or feel superior to others. It's difficult enough for adults to process and manage that feeling. It is not going to be easy, but we intend to follow through.”, said Sharma.
Further, Sharma also mentioned that the couple is looking forward to raising the child as equal partners and as a family unit rather than sole "mom and dad duties". For Sharma, it is important to raise her child with a balanced outlook throughout life.
Sharma recently did a photoshoot with a leading fashion magazine in which she was seen flaunting her baby bump confidently. The couple is expecting their pregnancy due in January 2021.
