Dombivli man rapes daughter: Police arrested a 49-year-old man from Dombivli in Maharashtra for allegedly raping his own daughter aged nine over several months, reports said Saturday. An alcoholic, he reportedly even forced his daughter to consume liquor while sexually assaulting her. His wife, towards whom he was also violent, approached authorities to file a case against him.
The man was charged under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The couple had two daughters, one aged nine and the other, eight. The nine-year-old was allegedly raped by the accused on an occasion when his wife was not in town, reports Hindustan Times. On the pretext of giving the girl a bath, he committed the crime despite refusals from the survivor.
Reports suggest he even woke her up in the middle of the night once to rape her. The accused refuted the rape allegations when his wife, whom the daughter told, confronted him.
