Delhi Police on Monday claimed that climate activist Disha Ravi panicked when Greta Thunberg accidentally shared the "toolkit" on the farm protests on Twitter.
The court on Tuesday allowed Ravi to access the FIR filed against her and the remand application. In addition to that, the Patiala House ruled that Disha Ravi should have a daily meeting with her lawyer and family members.
Ravi reportedly had asked Greta Thunberg to delete the leaked post and wanted to consult a lawyer fearing it could be used against them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, as her name was mentioned in the document, police said on Monday.
Cops reportedly have access to WhatsApp chats that indicate Thunberg deleted the tweet following Ravi's request. On Saturday, Delhi Police arrested 21-year-old Ravi from Bengaluru for allegedly editing the “toolkit” shared by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg on social media in early February. Police claimed Ravi was involved in “formulation and dissemination” of the doc. Disha Ravi Toolkit Case: All You Need to Know
Police also stressed that after Thunberg deleted the tweet, Ravi shared an edited version of the document. According to police sources, Ravi wrote to Thunberg on WhatsApp, saying, "Okay can you not tweet the toolkit at all. Can we just not say anything at all for a while. I am gonna talk to lawyers. I am sorry but our names are on it and we can literally get UAPA against us," NDTV reported.
They also added that Ravi’s alleged associates, lawyer Nikita Jacob and engineer Shantanu Muluk, were connected through a woman associate of Khalistani sympathiser, Mo Dhaliwal, who runs an organisation called Poetic Justice Foundation. Police claimed that the trio is the "key conspirator" in connection with the "toolkit" case and "collaborated with pro-Khalistan Poetic Justice Foundation to spread disaffection against the Indian State." Ravi has been charged with criminal conspiracy and sedition and was produced before the Delhi court on Monday. "I was just supporting farmers," she said in the court. "I supported farmers because they are our future and we all need to eat." She told the court that she only made editing changes to the toolkit.
Ravi will be in police remand for five days.
