Justice Rekha Palli has scheduled the arguments in the case for September 27 as she ruled the petition filed the Ravi raises questions of public importance.

Ravi's petition claimed that the Delhi Police leaked information about her case to the media. Delhi Police filed a response through advocate Rajat Nair and called the allegations in the petition "false and factually incorrect".

Senior advocate Akhil Sibal who represented Ravi told the court that when the activist was in police custody, her personal chats were leaked to the media by the Delhi Police. The argued that the Delhi Police says they have not leaked the chats but the media claims that they got them from the police.

Through an affidavit, by Cyber Cell Unit's Deputy Commissioner of Police Special Cell Anyesh Roy said that no information or case document such as the subject chats were shared by the police. He claimed that the only information shared by the police with the media was during press briefings which is a matter of record.

The affidavit, filed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Cell Unit) of Special Cell Anyesh Roy, said no information or document forming part of the case file including the subject chats have been shared by the police with any media house or individual except the information communicated officially through press briefing or broadcast, which is a matter of record.

The activist Disha Ravi was arrested by Delhi Police on February 13 for allegedly circulating a toolkit that was related to the ongoing farmers' protests going on in Delhi. She was granted bail by the Delhi High Cout on February 23.

In her petition, the activist had sought a restrain on media from publishing contents of her private chats. These included the chats between her and the third parties.

Ravi had said in her plea that she was severely aggrieved and prejudiced by the media trial" in connection with her arrest. The plea mentioned that the activist is being "viscerally attacked by the police and several media houses." She also alleged that her arrest on February 13 by the Cyber Cell team of Delhi Police was "wholly unlawfully and without basis".

The high court had then ruled that certain media coverage of the investigation into Disha Ravi's case indicates "sensationalism and prejudiced reporting". However, the court did not order to remove such content as they were already in the public domain. The High Court had asked media houses to not broadcast any leaked investigation as it could affect the probe.
