Dhanush, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth File for Divorce After 18 Years: Report

Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth have recently filed for divorce, marking the end of their marriage over two years after publicly announcing their separation. According to a report by India Today, the couple filed for divorce at the Chennai family court, opting for mutual consent under Section 13B. Sources revealed that Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have been living separately for the past two years, indicating a mutual decision to move forward with their lives individually. Their case is now awaiting a hearing in court as they navigate this significant transition in their personal lives.

Earlier, in 2022, Dhanush took to Twitter on January 17 to announce his separation from his wife, filmmaker-dancer Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The couple had been married for the past 18 years. In his Twitter post, Dhanush wrote, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth Get Separated:

"Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better, "he added. The actor also requested everyone to give them privacy and to respect their decision.

Dhanush and Aishwarya got married in 2004 and have two sons together, Yatra and Linga. They have also worked together in Tamil films. Aishwarya made her directional debut in the film named 3 with Dhanush and Shruti Haasan playing lead roles. The same film has the viral song Why This Kolaveri Di song.

According to reports, the couple first met each other during the screening of Tamil film Kadhal Kondaen starring Dhanush in lead role. After the film concluded, the two were introduced to each other and Aishwarya congratulated Dhanush on his performance. The next day he received a bouquet from Aishwarya with a congratulatory note.

The two started meeting each other and soon their family members arranged a meeting and suggested marriage. Dhanush and Aishwarya also liked each other and wanted to get married.

In an interview some years ago, Aishwarya had said, "The best thing about our relationship is the fact that we give each other plenty of space. Neither of us believes in changing for the other person just because we want to be together. When you are in your mid-20ss your mind is set in terms of what you believe in and it is very hard to change yourself."
