A woman in Delhi hired three henchmen to attack and burn the face of her ex-boyfriend, Omkar, 24, who works as a graphic designer and is the woman's colleague. The duo dated for three years and broke up, post which Omkar got engaged to someone else. In an attempt to take revenge, the woman decided to get henchmen on contract to throw acid on Omkar's face. The incident happened on June 19 in the Ranhola area of Delhi. The woman and one of the henchmen have been arrested as per an Officer's statement.
As per the reports, the woman hired three henchmen for Rs 30,000. She asked them to burn Omkar's face with acid and gave them a bottle full of acid. As per the contract, the three henchmen prepared to execute the plan on June 19.
Woman Hires Henchmen For Acid Attack On Ex-Boyfriend
The three men were on a motorcycle in the Ranhola area. They attacked Omkar with a knife giving him several cuts. As per the plan, they were supposed to throw acid too on Omkar's face. However, they couldn't and had to run away immediately.
When the police investigation began, the woman went underground.
How did the police nab the perpetrators?
The police scanned the incident's CCTV footage and Omkar's call history—this way they zeroed in on the woman and three henchmen. In order to nab the henchmen, the police laid a trap on June 23 near Dwarka Mor. They were successful at arresting one of the henchmen, Vikash.
During the interrogation, Vikash revealed the names of his partners in crime. He along with Harsh alias Bali and Rohan attacked Omkar with a knife. Vikash also disclosed the hideout of the woman who hired him and his partners for the crime.
The woman's confession
The woman who lives near Tilak Nagar Metro Station was arrested from Nihal Vihar. During interrogation, the woman revealed that she was enraged at being jilted by Omkar who got engaged to another woman. She also alleged that Omkar threatened her to leak her private pictures online when she tried to stop him from getting engaged.
