A Delhi woman head constable of police along with her male colleague is reportedly facing action on account of shooting social media videos in uniform during work hours. Shashi and Vivek Mathur, posted at Model Town police station, have been issued show cause notices and have 15 days to respond, reports said Tuesday.
Noting the duo "prepared several amusement videos while performing their official duties during lockdown in uniform, and posted the same on social media platform, which are in wide circulation," the notice issued June 7 by DCP (Northwest) Usha Rangnani states, as per Indian Express.

Netizens React After Delhi Woman Head Constable Faces Action For Videos
The issue came to the fore after a video Shashi and Mathur shot on Tukur Tukur from Ayesha Jhulka's 1996 film Masoom began doing rounds on social media. The duo has reportedly made more than one video together while on duty.
"In these videos, constable Vivek had not even worn the mask and the duo had also been violating social distancing norms. Being members of a disciplined force, their conduct appears to be unprofessional in discharge of their official duties," the notice further states, asking them to explain their actions in just over a fortnight.
While one section of social media users supported strict action against uniformed officers making videos on duty, some others found a light moment. "one for the male constable for maskless tukur tukur," a user wrote. "they'll never do " Tukur - Tukur" Again," another said.
This is not the first instance of Delhi cops using social media for entertainment on duty. In 2019, a performance video of two women constables, reportedly on duty at a VIP location, had gone viral. The same year, a woman officer of Gujarat police who partook in social media video trends from her work place was suspended.
