A woman approached the nearby station police to register a theft report for a robbery that took place at her home near Sevak Park in Delhi's Uttam Nagar. The robber took away cash and jewellery worth lakhs that the family had been saving up for their daughter's wedding.
When police initiated a probe based on the complaint of a woman named Kamlesh, they found no forced entry in the house during their investigation as no locks and doors of the house and the cupboard were broken, but what they found was more shocking and twisted than one would expect.
Woman Dressed In Burqa Robs Her Own Home
Based on the evidence during the investigation initiated by the complaint of a woman named Kamlesh, police have arrested the 31-year-old daughter of the complainant in the burglary case filed by her mother. Shweta who earlier denied the allegations admitted her crime and confessed why she led a robbery at her own house.
Shweta (31), the older daughter of Kamlesh revealed that the motive behind the burglary was the feeling of 'lack of love' from her mother as she claimed her mother loved her younger sister more than her. Shweta confessed she also had some debts to pay and hence she hatched the plan by first moving out of the house. She admitted that a feeling of jealousy and hatred overpowered her ethics.
Investigation And Arrest
Kamlesh claimed in her complaint that gold and silver jewellery worth lakhs had been stolen from her house along with 25,000 rupees cash they saved for the younger daughter's wedding. The robbery apparently happened in broad daylight when she was not at home.
After skimming through the CCTV footage of the neighbourhood of Kamlesh's home, police were quick to spot a woman dressed in a burqa suspiciously entering the house in question and the technical investigation led to the arrest.
During questioning, the accused revealed she hatched the elaborate plan of this robbery to pay off some of her debts and from the stolen assets some of the jewellery belonged to her that she asked her mother to keep them safe with her.
As per the police, Shweta built up a well-thought plan of robbery when she first moved out of her mother's home in January. Taking advantage of the routine, Shweta on the day of the loot stole keys to the house and cupboard from her mother who visited her new home. On the pretext of buying some vegetables, Shweta then stepped out of her house to lead the robbery.
Shweta then changed into a burqa in a public toilet and entered her mother's home using the keys leading to no suspicion by neighbours and ran away with the jewellery and cash.
