Students at Delhi University’s all-female Miranda House alleged that several men jumped over the walls to enter the campus.

Videos posted online by a student showed men jumping over the walls and over a closed college gate to witness a Diwali fest. Female students alleged that the men cat-called raised sexist slogans, and groped women.
Female students and the college's Women's Development Cell alleged that men who entered the campus were aggressive and invaded the personal space of women. However, the Delhi police reported that the Diwali fest was "incident-free" and that the men climbing over the walls were stopped.

- Delhi University’s Miranda House is an all-women college. The principal, Professor Bijayalaxmi Nanda shared that on October 14, there was a Diwali Mela celebration program and entry was allowed for all college students.
- After a huge crowd gathered inside, the entry gates were closed by the college administration.
- In response, several men allegedly bypassed security and entered the college premises by climbing over the wall.
- The college’s Women’s Development Cell said, “Many attendees of the fest, primarily men, went entirely out of control at this move and reacted aggressively when the administration prevented them from being on campus.”
- The cell added that the men entered restricted premises, such as classrooms and ignored the requests of professors and staff. The cell also alleged that the men invaded the personal space of fellow students.
- Female student Sobhana shared a purported video of men climbing over the walls to enter Miranda House. She wrote, “What followed was horrible. Cat-calling, groping, sexist sloganeering and more.”
- She added, “Men entering safe spaces to harass gender minorities is nothing new, but they out do themselves every time.”
- She shared another video of the men from Ramjas College raising slogans, such as “Ramjas ka Naara hai, Miranda poora hamara hai (Ramjas’ slogan, all of Miranda is ours).”
- The Delhi Police said they have not received any complaints and that the male students were stopped. The police described the Diwali programme as “incident-free”.
- Based on the video, the Delhi Commission for Women took suo moto cognizance of an incident of sexual harassment inside the college and issued a notice to the Delhi police over the incident. The police filed an FIR against the men and they have been booked under sections of trespass based on the video.
