Delhi Schools For classes Nursery to VIII To Reopen. Delhi Disaster Management Authority has said that it will reopen the schools for the remaining classes in a phased manner after November 1. These include classes Nursery to VIII.
The modalities for the reopening will be decided by the officials after the festival of Dusshera is over. On September 1 the schools in the national capital reopened for classes IX to XII. They are following all related protocols of wearing face masks, use of hand sanitisers and social distancing. The schools have also not made offline attendance compulsory either. Also they are following strict rules such as 50 per cent attendance, compulsory thermal screening, staggering food breaks, socially distanced seating arrangements and so on.

Earlier Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) chief Dr Bhargava had said, “Children can handle viral infection better, they have less number of receptors. So once the decision is taken and all the staff vaccinated it would be good to open primary schools first.".
Last week Mumbai’s Mayor Kishori Pednekar clarified that the decision to reopen schools in Mumbai and surrounding areas will be taken after the festival of Diwali. The Telangana state high court on August 30th put a stay on the government’s order to reopen schools from September 1. The court’s decision came in response to a PIL.
At present, no mass vaccination program has been rolled out for children under the age of 18 in India. However on September 21, Bharat Biotech reported completion of Phase II/III trials of Covaxin on children in the age group of 2-18 years.
Indian has been reporting less than 20,000 cases for the last two days. This has resulted in a drop in the number of active cases in the country to 2.82 lakh. It has been more than eight months that a mass covid-19 vaccination programme has been launched by the central government across the country.
