Ranjit Nagar Rape Case: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped on October 22 by her neighbour in Delhi's Ranjit Nagar area. The Delhi Commission For Women chief Swati Maliwal issued a notice to the Delhi Police in the matter on Saturday.

As per reports, the suspect in the case is in his 20s. Maliwal, in the notice, said, "The Delhi Commission for Women has received information regarding the rape of a girl child in Ranjeet Nagar area of Delhi on 22.10.2021. The Corrunission has been informed that a 7-year-old girl was lured by a man who offered her a 10 rupee note and thereafter raped her brutally." She added that the father of the girl took her to a nearby hospital but her bleeding did not stop so she was taken to another hospital and is in critical condition.
The Women's Commission Chief termed the incident a serious matter and directed the police to submit a copy of the FIR registered in the case along with details of the arrested accused. The notice read, "If the accused(s) have not been arrested, please provide the steps taken by Delhi Police to arrest the accused(s)."
Maliwal also asked for a detailed action report from the Delhi Police in the matter. "Considering the gravity of the matter, please provide the sought information to the Commission latest by 26.10.2021," said the notice.
The girl was reportedly playing outside her home when she was lured by the culprit who took her to a secluded place and allegedly forced himself on her. As per the family members, the girl was bleeding when she came back home. The police have found CCTV footage of the accused and girl. The survivor is seen following the culprit from a market. The girl's father is a part-time labourer, as per reports. The police have filed a case against the unnamed accused on charges of child sexual abuse.
