Climate Activist Disha Ravi: Climate activist Disha Ravi has now been pulled up for 'defaming India' by the Delhi police.
The police told a Delhi court that Ravi was a part of a conspiracy which aimed at creating unrest using the ongoing farmers' protest as a disguise.
Climate activist Disha Ravi deleted her WhatsApp chats
Furthermore, the police defended their move of arresting Ravi by alleging that she was in contact with Khalistani supporters, and prepared the toolkit which was shared by Greta Thunberg. They also pointed out that she had deleted all her WhatsApp chats with Thunberg to cover up her tracks.
"Why did Disha Ravi cover her track and delete evidence if she did not commit wrong. This shows her guilty mind and sinister design," it told Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana.
However, Disha Ravi's lawyer stated that the activist wasn't linked to Sikhs For Justice, a Khalistani body which has been banned.
"Disha is not a rebel without a cause. There's a cause of environment, of agriculture and interlink between them," her counsel said.
The lawyer Sidharth Agarwal also denied the Republic Day violence allegations too. "The toolkit says that people should join the march of Republic Day. Police gave the permission for the march and if I call people to join the march, then can I be called seditious?"
After hearing the arguements, the court decided to stay on its order of granting bail to climate activist Disha Ravi.
About 50 retired judges, top police officers and have written to the President to 'denounce attempts of individuals and organisations to modify the narrative' of the Disha Ravi case.
