Rape can happen anywhere, and the predators are everywhere. Usually, in several cases, the women are blamed- either for wearing a provoking dress or travelling at night. What if a girl is raped in the evening while sitting in the park. Who should be blamed? The 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area when the minor was sitting with her friend in a park.
Delhi Minor Gang Rape Case
On the evening of 27 June, while the minor was in the park, the three men came, took turns to rape her, and fled the spot. As per police officials, after the complaint was filed, the police arrested the three accused and charged them under sections 376D (gangrape), and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act of the Indian Penal Code. The officer added that the cops made the arrests and now looking out for her friend, also one of the suspects who was present at the time of the incident. The police are also investigating whether the accused are known to survivors.
Recently, the Shahbad Dairy area has been in the news for the sensational murder of another 16-year-old girl. The man constantly stabbed the minor publicly. She had 34 injuries on her body and the skull smashed. She succumbed to death in a gruesome incident, as per the officials. The grisly murder was captured on a CCTV camera, the recording shows the man stabbed the girl with a knife atleast 20 times, but no one intervened to save her.
On 27 June, in another case, Delhi Police arrested a 68-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor. The accused's son accidentally recorded the act on his mobile camera. On 11 June, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a secluded place in North Delhi's Burari area. The accused, a school dropout and auto driver, reportedly raped her in a three-wheeler loading vehicle. These are a few cases that took place in June in Delhi, the count for the entire month is much high.
