A Delhi police officer has been caught on Camera misbehaving with a woman during dark hours after slamming his car into her car in Dwarka Sector 9 area on Tuesday. The video that’s going viral on social media shows the officer wearing his uniform, carrying alcohol bottles along with him in the car and in an intoxicated state telling the woman, “Yeh toh road hai, yaha pe accident bhi hote hain, murder bhi, main kya karu? (This is a road, accidents happen here, murders happen too… what shall I do about it?).”
He also told the woman to “do whatever she can” about the shocking incident. Reportedly, cops from Dwarka Sector 9 jurisdiction also arrived at the place of incident but eye witnesses claimed that they were trying to shield the drunken police officer rather than taking strict actions against him.
The accused police officer also changed his shirt after several people on road surrounded his car as seen in the video. The woman who has accused the policeman of misbehaviour said in another video, “I had just stopped my car on the red-light and in a matter of a few seconds; a car slams into my car. Then the police officer comes out of the car in a drunken state with his shirt buttons open. He said what he had to say and goes back in the car which had tinted glass windows without listening to anything. He did not leave the car again until a few other police officers came to the location. Evidently there is alcohol lying in the car.”

After the videos of the incident went viral on social media, Delhi Commission for Women has taken Suo Moto cognisance of it and has sought details of the incident from the Delhi Police. “It has been alleged that the cop was intoxicated at the time of the incident and after hitting the car, he tried to threaten and intimidate the lady. From the video, it is seen that the alleged cop is in his uniform at the time of the incident and it is further alleged that he had liquor bottles in his car,” said the letter sent to the SHO of Dwarka Police.

Many people can be seen in the video alleging that when police was called on spot, no action was taken against the drunken cop; instead, other police officers only supported him, it added.
The commission has sought details of the call made on 100 in the matter and the action taken on the same, copy of FIR registered in the matter and copy of medical report of the accused cop. It also asked the police station whether he was made to undergo a test to ascertain whether he was actually drunk. “If yes, please provide results of the test. If no, please provide reasons for not conducting the test, copy of the enquiry report in the matter and administrative action if any, taken against the cop,” DCW asked from the police station.
