This is due to the sudden spike in the COVID-19 cases in the city. Sisodia had an online interaction with the students where he made an announcement regarding the same. The class 9 and class 11 exams of Delhi government school students have been postponed. After that, the new exam dates will be announced. He tried to clear the doubts of students during the online meeting.

When asked about the CBSE practical examinations, Manish Sisodia said that he has asked the school heads to talk to the CBSE examiners to postpone them.  “We have asked the heads of schools to talk to the CBSE examiners and move the dates of the remaining CBSE practical exams forward. Schools have been asked to defer the remaining practical exams till April 20 for now," he said.

Schools can decide whether they require minimum number of teachers to be present

He was also asked about whether teachers will have to go to educational institutes at a time when they will be non-functional. Manish Sisodia replied by saying that there is no centralised rule in this regard, and schools can decide whether teachers will conduct online classes from school or their homes. Schools have also been given the freedom to decide whether they need a minimum amount of teachers or not.

Amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Delhi government has called for a suspension of all offline academic activities. The Directorate of Education (DoE) said in an order, "All schools are, hereby, informed that the conduct of all academic and examination activities through physical mode shall remain suspended with immediate effect till further orders.”
