#DeepikaKumari enters round of 16, Saina Nehwal plays today

Both archers Bombayla Devi Laishram and Deepika Kumari have shot their way into Round of 16. Deepika Kumari next faces the World No. 2 Tan Ya-ting of Taipei at 5:30 PM IST on Thursday. Bombayla Devi will face Alejandra Valencia of Mexico at 5:56 PM IST on Thursday.

#DeepikaKumari beat Italian international Guendalina Sartori in the round of 32 to enter pre quaterfinals. On Wednesday, Bombayla Devi Lashiram who was competing in the women’s archery individual round today, had an easy win over Taipei’s Shin-Chia Lin with 6-2 at Rio 2016 Olympics. Bombayla beats world silver medallist and qualified for round 16. It was a game of total domination for the Indian archer who successfully won three sets, when her opponent only won one. With that, Bombayla Devi managed to clinch A spot in the pre-quarts of the women’s individual archery event at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
