Deepika Padukone to be questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau today

Her manager Karishma Prakash will also be questioned again and another statement will be recorded by the bureau. Prakash has already been interrogated once before.

Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone will be questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau today in the broader investigation of a Bollywood drug nexus. The name of Padukone, who has acted in films like Padmaavat, Jawaani Dewani, emerged in the Bollywood drug-probe after screenshots of a WhatsApp chat with her manager Karishma Prakash from 2017 came into light. In the chat, now gone viral, a person denoted as ‘D’, had been allegedly identified to be Deepika Padukone. A detailed report noted that D allegedly asked for “maal” and “hash” from another persona called ‘K’, reportedly Karishma Prakash, her manager.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sept 25th already questioned actor Rakul Preet Singh, Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash in the drugs investigations linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The NCB has asked Karishma Prakash to appear before it again today, when it would also be recording Deepika Padukone's statement. All the questioning happened at NCB guest house in Colaba.

Rakul Preet Singh - an actor who has been seen in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films - is being investigated by NCB as part of its probe into alleged Bollywood-drugs nexus. She was among the many personalities named by actress Rhea Chakraborty, Rajput’s former girlfriend, who is under arrest. Chakarborty is in judicial custody till 6th October.Actor Deepika Padukone will be questioned today. Her manager, Karishma Prakash, was interrogated on Friday and she is likely to be called again today. Karishma Prakash's questioning went on for much longer, almost 7 hours while Rakul Preet Singh's lasted four hours as per reports. Padukone, along with Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan will be recording their statement today.

The NCB, which began the inquiry after a drugs angle came to light in connection with Rajput’s alleged suicide, has now widened its investigation and asked a number of Bollywood celebrities for questioning. 34 year old Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra on June 14.
