Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone will be questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau today in the broader investigation of a Bollywood drug nexus. The name of Padukone, who has acted in films like Padmaavat, Jawaani Dewani, emerged in the Bollywood drug-probe after screenshots of a WhatsApp chat with her manager Karishma Prakash from 2017 came into light. In the chat, now gone viral, a person denoted as ‘D’, had been allegedly identified to be Deepika Padukone. A detailed report noted that D allegedly asked for “maal” and “hash” from another persona called ‘K’, reportedly Karishma Prakash, her manager.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sept 25th already questioned actor Rakul Preet Singh, Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash in the drugs investigations linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The NCB has asked Karishma Prakash to appear before it again today, when it would also be recording Deepika Padukone's statement. All the questioning happened at NCB guest house in Colaba.
