Actress Deepika Padukone has become the latest Indian celebrity to get her own wax statue at the Madame Tussauds Museum in both London and New Delhi.
Fourth Indian celebrity in line
Currently, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif have their wax statues at the famous museum.
The actor announced this in a Facebook live video from London.
Padukone said, “It’s fun, exciting and in a way I feel a lot of gratitude because you know when you give your fans a little more than just the movies, then it’s really, really special. I hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoy creating it,” reported HT.

“The only time I visited Madame Tussauds was in London when I was very little with my parents. That memory has sort of stayed with me, obviously. And then to receive a letter and now to be a part of that, and to actually experience what goes into making these wax figures. I think Madame Tussauds is so iconic in so many ways so it’s really special,” she added.
Statue in the making
The 'Padmavat' actress is currently in London to get her measurements done for the statue.
When asked, beside whom would she want her statue to be placed she said, "I think near fun people so that we can have our own little party there. But I think just to be part of this legacy of people who have achieved so much in life is exciting enough.”
She posted the very first images of her statue being made along with her own photograph. The picture has a sample of eyes which may end up on Padukone's statue.
Her statue will be placed in the A-list category.
